Symptoms

Microsoft Outlook 2016 has been configured to download your email messages on the server by using POP3. While you are working with it, you experience that after the time when Outlook downloads your email; all the email messages of the server are deleted from the inbox.

Cause

This problem usually occurs in Microsoft Outlook 2016 configured with POP3 and in that configuration if you have to Leave a copy of messages on the Server option enabled. If you have the option of Remove from Server after some period enabled, then you may experience the issue of email messages being deleted from the server.

Solution

To overcome the above-mentioned trouble, perform the following steps:

  1. Open Microsoft Outlook 2016.
  2. In the File menu, select Account Settings and then click on Account Setting.
  3. Take the cursor on your account and click on it to highlight the account.
  4. Select on Change option and a Change Account window will appear.
  5. In that click on More Settings >> Advanced
  6. Enable the Remove from server after and mention the days.
  7. Click OK.
